I just purchased a key off eBay for Office Professional Plus, I have been very skeptical and still am. After doing some research and reading some post, I worry that the key I purchased is obtained illegally. Can anybody check and should I ask for a refund? Thank you! The reason is that electronic product keys for retail consumers acquired by any means other than directly from Microsoft thru Digital River are product keys that have been lost, stolen, compromised to the internet, abused like those MSDN keys for Windows 7 or made up with a Key Generator program.

If the answer is NO, you purchased your electronic product key directly from Microsoft thru Digital River, then you have perpetually licensed Genuine software. This is a physical product being sold at local stores and thru many online retailers that contains a printed product key or in some cases, a PIN that is used at a Microsoft website to download a product key. These product key cards are intended to activate Trial installations of Office that are preinstalled on brand new computers.
